Final Prototypes and ideas

Problem Statement:
Children are not learning in a hands on way, how to eat healthy portions as well know what goes into the food they eat. It shouldn’t be up to the parents to teach their kids how to cook, but rather let their children take ownership of cooking their own meals and creating their own recipes.

Solution:
Create a kit for children from the ages of 4-7, that includes seasonal books as well as a set of measuring cups.

How does the kit work?

The books: Each book is a different season. The graphics will be specific towards that season and obvious to the user. It starts off with a nutrition page, and then leads to what is in season (fruits and veggies.) Chapters will be organized to breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and dessert. There will be about 7-10 recipes for each chapter.

The measuring cups: The cups are molded into shapes because I thought about how young children like to play with blocks. They can learn how to build their meal through measuring, while the shapes of the cups are also incorporated into the instructions of each recipe.
